Well, this past week we splurged and bought an external modem for our computer. It can be used anywhere you that you can get a cell phone signal. It is definitely faster than dial up but not as fast I would like it to be. It is nice having internet access anytime we want rather than waiting to be in certain places to access it. We wanted to get wireless but we live too far out of town and we can't get a signal. So this is the best we got right now.

Going High Tech

We got the external modem at CAT Telecom. To my knowledge it is the only place that sells it.
All you need to use it is a cell phone signal. You can bring it anywhere. However only the computer that has the modem plugged in can use the internet. However, the closer you are to the tower the faster it will be. Some days are really fast. Some days are not much faster that dial up.
It cost 11,000 baht to buy and the monthly rate is 790 if i remember quickly.
Because of where we live, this was the only optin other than dial up. Although wireless at my friend's house is faster, this is good for the time being.
